Constituent Services: Internship Information

Congressman Wexler encourages students who live in South Florida to apply for internships in his Washington, DC congressional office. An internship in a congressional office provides students a unique and valuable opportunity to observe and participate in the legislative process.

Intern responsibilities include monitoring congressional hearings, data entry, answering constituent mail, researching legislative issues, and general office duties (e.g., answering telephone, greeting visitors).

Opportunities are available for month-long internships during Summer months and semester-long internships during Spring and Fall terms. These internships can be used toward college credit if your university offers a matching program.

Due to space constraints, only a limited number of candidates can be accepted and a priority is placed on college juniors and seniors who live within Congressman Wexler's congressional district.

Because of tremendous interest, Summer internship applications are considered on a rolling basis and are typically filled in March. Fall applications are considered both in May and again in September. Spring applications are considered in November. All internships are unpaid. Interested applicants must send a cover letter, a resume including current GPA, and a brief academic writing sample.

Contact Congressman Wexler's Intern Coordinator at (202) 225-3001 with further questions.
